After 1 year of combining with the pilot implementation of the project "Building a model of intensive farming of white leg shrimp with two stages using Biofloc technology to associate product consumption in the Northern provinces", in the period of 2019 - 2021, the project was initially successful.
In order to strongly develop this shrimp species in a sustainable direction, to overcome the complicated disease situation in cultured shrimp flocks, in 2019, Hai Phong Center for Agricultural Extension has implemented the project "Building an intensive shrimp farming model. Two-stage white card using Biofloc technology to associate product consumption in Northern provinces ”, in the period of 2019 - 2021.

The project was implemented with a total area of 2,886ha, divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 accounts for 2,860 m2; Phase 2 accounts for 2.6 ha in 2 localities: Hai Phong and Nam Dinh. There are 8 households selected, of which Hai Phong 5 households with white shrimp farming area in the planning and development orientation of local aquaculture, have enough conditions to implement the selected model.
With this model, phase 1, shrimp are nursed before releasing them into the pond. Nursing pond with a small area, so the management is stricter, in order to avoid the impact of weather and other factors from outside. The pond environment is tightly controlled with diseases, so the survival rate of shrimp is high, there are few diseases, the shrimp grow healthy, pond treatment is less costly.

Entering the second stage, shrimp after 30 days of age reaching 700 - 800 shrimp / kg will be leveled through the pond by the method of discharging pipes, at this time the shrimp have passed the stage of often suffering dangerous diseases due to their resistance. high. It is expected that after 2 - 2.5 months of farming in shrimp ponds with a weight of 50-60 / kg, they will be sold to the market.
In addition to implementing the two-phase shrimp farming model, during the implementation process, the Project Management Board is interested in enhancing information and communication activities on management, especially improving seed quality and good control. diseases, farming environment ... to continue to thrive, stabilize intensive and semi-intensive shrimp farming.

After 1 year of implementation, in addition to the productivity and output of farmed shrimp have exceeded the set plan, the project also brings social and environmental effects such as: disease is controlled to a maximum, environmental pollution market in shrimp farming is limited, increasing the survival rate of farmed shrimp, higher product quality ...

Specifically, shrimp productivity reached 18.47 tons / ha, production reached 48.04 tons, survival rate reached 76%, feed factor decreased 15% compared to conventional intensive white shrimp farming. For 5 shrimp farming households under the project model in Hai Phong, after accounting for revenues and expenditures, profits reached 1,492,685,000 VND / 1.5 ha, the average interest was 995,123,000 VND / ha. Households in the project in Nam Dinh, although the profit is lower than Hai Phong, but the average is over 900 million VND / ha.
